Pre Production

When planning to film the music video there were things we needed to take into account such as safety and continuity.

Safety was a really important factor to take into account when planning the music video. The first thing I thought of was that there could be loose wires from the camera, this was cared for by just checking around when acting so nobody fell over. There were sheets of paper and books also included in the video so people had to be safe and make sure they didn't get any papercuts. Girls in the video were chewing gum when filming so they had to make sure they were safe and didn't choke on it. When the projector was used there was a vital rule not to look directly into the light because it is powerful enough to blind you, so people had to be safe when the projector was on. When the three boys used guitars when filming and had to jump in the air with them, they had other people around them so they had to be careful not to hit themselves, each other, or the dancers behind them, they also had to make sure the strap was firm to stop the guitar falling on their feet. People used pens and pencils during this music video as well, so when they used them they had to to be careful n ot to stab themslves. When Harley (who played Matt) dropped his pencil on the floor he had to be careful to hit his toes, and when Vicky (who played the teacher) bent down to pick the pencil up she had to bend her knees to be careful not to hurt he back and also not to stab herself. She also wore high heels so when she had to walk up and the isles between the desks she had to be careful not to fall and hurt herself. When she walks down and runs her nails down Neil's (James') arm she had to be sure not to sratch him. When Harley (Matt) has to barge through a group of students he had to make sure he didn't push them too hard and the people being pushed knew when he came through so they were prepared.
